Attention Minecraft® players! Developed for experienced Minecraft® players, this camp teaches Ninjas how to make unique mods (modifications that change the game)! They will create their own custom tools, weapons, armor, enemies, and more! By the end of camp, Ninjas will be able to export their mods for friends and family to explore at home using Minecraft® Java Edition.
Attention Minecraft® masters! Learn how to use code to control a virtual robot in Minecraft®. You can even program it to complete all of the boring tasks in Minecraft® for you…That’s right! Teach your robots to dig, farm, build, and more.
Ninjas will use code to control a robot in Minecraft Education Edition®. Through simple programming, they'll apply complex computer science concepts to automate the boring parts of Minecraft® such as farming, digging and more. Ninjas will use concepts like loops and functions to code crazy things like spawning hundreds of chickens from the sky! They will have a blast sharing their work and playing in a world together with their fellow campers.
Ninjas will experiment with video production through a variety of mediums including Claymation, LEGO Minifigures, paper cutouts, and more! Capturing images frame-by-frame, they will produce videos in a rapid prototyping style. Ninjas will work on various shorts including magic trick illusions, a 3-part story, walking character animations, and more! They will work independently on their videos and collaborate in teams during the entire design process.
In this hands-on, fully guided experience, Ninjas will learn the basics of game building and creative development in Roblox, an exciting, online gaming platform. Ninjas will spend their time building and exploring new worlds in Roblox before sharing their creations locally and globally. This camp will teach Ninjas how to plan, design, and build their own 3D world to create much more than just a game!
Ninjas will create retro-style arcade games with Microsoft MakeCode Arcade. Throughout the camp, Ninjas combine the power of coding with game design to enhance their programming skills and develop games inspired by classic platformers, adventure games, and more! At the end of the camp, they will bring their games to life on handheld gaming devices to play and share with friends.

Q: What if my child is older/younger than the recommended age(s)?
A: These are suggested ages to get the most enjoyment from camp, but we are flexible if your child is experienced or prefers a younger camp. We are happy to accommodate, however we cannot accommodate 1 on 1 help for the duration of camp as our maximum children to Sensei ratio is 5:1.
Q: Do I need to provide anything for my child to attend camp?
A: We provide all the tech, equipment, and materials. If your child is attending a camp such as Roblox, and they already have an account, we encourage them to come prepared with their own login and password if they wish to use it. The software may ask for 2-factor authentication which could complicate things, so we always have 'house accounts' for Ninjas to use if they cannot get into their accounts, or if they do not have one. We may try to contact you one time for an authentication code if we run into this, and your child REALLY wants to use their own account. We aim to please!
Q: Is lunch included?
A: No. If your child is staying the full day, you can pack them a nut-free lunch, and we will provide the supervision at no additional cost. On Friday, we will provide a FREE pizza lunch to the full day campers.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: If cancelled more than 2 weeks prior to the camp start date, we will issue a 100% refund. If within 2 weeks of the camp start date, we cannot issue a refund, however we will offer a credit to any of our programming in the future for the same child or sibling (must be within the same family).
Q: What are the staff-to-camper rations?
A: We do better than the guidelines set by the Ontario Camps Association for Staff-to-Camper rations (a max of 1:10 for children ages six and older). At Code Ninjas Leaside camps, we aim to have a ration of no more than 1:6.
